**Key Responsibilities**
As a Retail Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in our Wangaratta store. Your primary responsibilities will include:
1. **Customer Service Excellence:**
– Develop and foster strong relationships with customers, providing them with the best advice and solutions for their agricultural needs.
– Assist customers with product selection and offer recommendations based on their specific requirements.
– Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.
2. **Sales Support and Transactions:**
– Conduct point-of-sale transactions efficiently, including processing sales, returns, and exchanges.
– Manage cash handling and ensure accurate record-keeping for all transactions.
3. **Administrative Tasks:**
– Perform various administrative duties, such as invoicing, scanning, and data entry.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales and inventory.
4. **Store Set-Up and Merchandising:**
– Assist with the set-up and maintenance of the store layout, ensuring products are displayed attractively and stocked adequately.
– Participate in regular stocktakes and ordering of products to ensure optimal inventory levels.
5. **Physical Tasks and Equipment Operation:**
– Perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving products as needed.
– Operate store equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts (if licensed).
6. **Team Collaboration:**
– Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive and productive work environment.
– Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of store operations.
7. **Product Knowledge and Training:**
– Stay informed about the latest products and industry trends to provide knowledgeable advice to customers.
– Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
8. **Health and Safety Compliance:**
– Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
9. **Community Engagement:**
– Act as an ambassador for AG Warehouse, building and maintaining strong relationships with the local farming community.
10. **Other Duties:**
– Perform other duties as required, including supporting special promotions, events, and seasonal sales activities.
**About You**
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
– **Experience:** Previous experience in the retail industry, particularly in providing high-level customer service. Experience in agricultural retail or farming knowledge is a plus but not essential.
– **Communication Skills:** Exceptional communication and rapport-building skills. Ability to engage with customers and provide tailored advice.
– **Technical Skills:** Comfortable with administrative tasks, including the use of software applications for data entry and invoicing. Experience with point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
– **Physical Capability:** Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving products. A forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred.
– **Team Player:** Strong team player with a positive attitude. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a supportive work environment.
– **Flexibility:** Willingness to work standard hours (Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm) with some Saturday shifts (9 am – 12 pm).
