**Hours:** 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
**Pay Range:** $15.50 – $16.50 per hour, based on experience
**Differentials:**
– **Weekend Differential:** Additional $1/hour from 6 PM Friday to 6 AM Monday
– **Night Shift Differential:** Additional $3/hour from 6 PM to 6 AM

This position is crucial in providing non-medical assistance to residents in our assisted living community. **Position Overview**
The Companion role is integral to our care team, providing essential support to our residents. This position offers full-time days and part-time night shifts, with 12-hour shifts that may include weekends and holidays. The Companion will assist residents with daily activities, promote a safe environment, and foster a positive living experience. **Key Responsibilities**
As a Companion, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. **Resident Assistance:** Provide non-medical assistance to residents, including helping with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility. Assist residents in maintaining personal hygiene and ensure their comfort and well-being.
2. **Safety and Well-being:** Monitor residents’ safety, ensuring a secure environment. Assist in maintaining the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident. Report any concerns or changes in residents’ conditions to the appropriate staff.
3. **Companionship:** Offer companionship and engage residents in meaningful conversations and activities. Encourage social interaction and participation in community events.
4. **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide comprehensive care. Contribute to team efforts, attend staff meetings, and participate in training sessions.
5. **Professional Interaction:** Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with residents, visitors, and staff. Uphold the standards and values of Hillcrest Care Center & The Towers.
6. **Physical Activity:** Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, walking, standing, sitting, moving, pushing, and pulling. These activities may be required for extended periods.
7. **Compliance and Safety:** Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and facility standards. Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols. Handle chemicals, odors, air contaminants, infectious waste, and diseases safely.
8. **Documentation and Reporting:** Accurately document and report residents’ activities, changes in condition, and any incidents. Ensure proper communication with the care team.
9. **Emergency Response:** Be prepared to respond to emergencies and provide assistance as needed. Maintain current CPR/BLS and First Aid certification.
10. **Other Duties:** Perform additional tasks as assigned, contributing to the overall care and comfort of residents.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
To be considered for the Companion position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
– **Experience:** Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
– **References:** Good verifiable work and/or personal references are required.
– **Background Check:** Must pass a pre-employment background check and a Colorado Adult Protective Services check.
– **Drug Screening:** Must pass a drug screen.
– **Certification:** Must be CPR/BLS and First Aid certified.
– **Skills:** Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a compassionate and empathetic nature, and the ability to work as part of a team.
– **Physical Requirements:** Ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role.
