The purpose of a resume is to advance the job search to the next-stage interview. Although the document does not get a job in most cases, it is essential to initiate a process expected to end with a successful outcome first step.
For the preparation and presentation of the resume person is a tool to move forward. However, for the manager of the review of the resume is a tool for rapid assessment to determine whether or not to spend more time in a job candidate. Managers numerous resumes overhaul develop a selection process that allows them to separate job applicants for interview or those who refuse. The amount of time a manager spends reviewing your resume varies, however, some managers spend only 7 seconds in this task. With so little time for biographical document the job applicant to make a positive first impression, it is imperative that a person works hard to communicate well in this piece.
The following are some key points to work by helping to improve the overall impression:
The document should not exceed one page with normal margins and normal font size. Although there may be exceptions to this, in some cases, in general terms, brevity is preferred by the administrators. Including different pieces of information are needed to reach the interview stage. Equally important though is the selection of information to leave out. A candidate demonstrates its ability to decision making by determining the information to be omitted. Content that is or is not in a resume or CV begins to tell the manager about the candidate’s work style and ability. The information contained in the document must demonstrate the ability of a candidate to perform well in some aspects of the work being carried out.
The organization of the relevant information in a logical and systematic manner demonstrates the logic of a candidate and his ability to organize the information. This hierarchy of information should list things, both in order of importance and be chronologically consistent. To start the development of the hierarchy of information, it may be useful to develop a scheme. (See example.) The most important points should appear first. For example, if a candidate has little work experience that is not in a field related to the work being carried out, then your college education is more important than work experience. However, if the aspects of your work experience is relevant, then this information must rise above education in the hierarchy of information.
The purpose of the resume should answer the question: “Why did you send me this curriculum?” This is where the applicant declares his reason (s) to search for a job. As a result, this is also when an individual begins communicating their values. The goal should share about why is this interesting for the candidate position and why the applicant is a desirable employee for the company. Each resume should aim sent a clear focus on the business and the position of an individual is performing. Here are a couple of examples of a target for use resume or CV.
For a difficult position to use my strengths and experience of working with people in a favorable environment for growth and professional development. To promote the mission, vision and values of a company using my experience, knowledge and enthusiasm.
When writing copy for each input of work experience, it is important that the active, expressive and descriptive text. The first word of the input must communicate the action. Generally, this will be a verb in the form of a gerund. For example, instead of writing “I worked as a sales representative ….” which would be more efficient to put “sales grow 40% in two years, I managed key accounts in the consumer goods industry …. “Put information in this format employers communicates that you understand the basics of business and that you are a person who does things. By putting the specific information that clearly indicates the results, it becomes unnecessary and possibly even counterproductive-to put general information about its characteristics or abilities elsewhere on the resume in the form of a list. This saves space for the most important information skills not say that a person is doing, but something demonstrated by past action. Contact the integrity that has been responsible for the creation of a new program, people management, increase efficiency, introducing new concepts, attracting new customers, or anything else that the employer wishes for a person in that position to achieve and significantly advance its cause. If a candidate has not had opportunities to demonstrate tangible successes in his career, however, then it is useful to demonstrate transferable skills. In this case, it is useful to communicate teamwork, experience of working with data, etc. To prepare a good resume or CV, it is important to spend time working on how you can put yourself and what aspects of it would possible value for a specific employer.
The document design must appeal to others. While a resume is not a painting by Michelangelo, is it not also a copious report.
Several important design elements to consider are:
It is important to have an attractive design for the document. Nobody is forced to read your resume or CV. It is helpful for you to make it attractive to have an appropriate amount of quality information. This document is not a biography, however. By putting only the most important information in the best way, you should have margins that are blank with plenty of space. There must be a space between the inputs and the categories of information to help wean important information. Information hierarchy and “color” –
Using the sample outline of great help to organize information in order and rank of importance. As this begins to take shape, the document must begin to have different colors or shades of gray. When holding the document a bit far, daring or text color should communicate the importance of the topic. Again, this can be done with the blank space as the amount of an element is inserted from the outside as well as the size and font type.
Design Flow –
English and Russian are read from the top of the page down and from left to right. As a result, we naturally come to see the information in the upper left corner to the bottom right corner. It is useful for the design so that the eye is trained to move. In one of the later drafts of a resume or CV, it is useful to observe the flow of information. Make sure the elements guide the eye from top left to bottom right.
In the design, less is more. To sources, this is true. In general, it is best to use only two sources. This could be one that is sans-serif for the main headings and a serif font for information. Since serif fonts help guide the eye along the line of text integrated with the natural lines-la-serif font that is most often selected for large amounts of text.
If the document is submitted in paper format, it is important to put on quality paper. This could be a heavier paper or white canvas or other enterprise-quality paper. Select the paper and the color that suits the organization to which you are applying and represents you individually.
Once again, the resume or CV should be attractive. In recent versions, the candidate will do well to assess whether your resume has the necessary information and if so, then what looks attractive. If there is too much text, or you are not well organized, then people are less open to reading. Because the aim of the paper is to present a glance to get to the interview stage, make sure it is clean and appealing to the reader.
Claims that a candidate does in a resume or interview will be checked often in conversations with references to a candidate. In addition, some things are easy to check. For example, if a person gets to speak in another language, the interviewer can ask a question in the other language to ensure accuracy of the contents. Even if the demands are not checked, there will be a level of performance that is expected to be consistent with the information shared in the resume or CV and interview. Market same good, but do it with integrity for peace of mind and better opportunities for long-term employment.
When preparing a resume or CV, allow enough time to work on it and come back to it. It is an important step in developing your career investment. Spend time and energy to do well, because it is the key to the transition to a next interview.
